The three largest waterfalls in the area and the Absolute Nature Reserve Cabo Blanco are thirty minutes away. This beautiful reserve has several kilometers of lush tropical hiking trails, excellent for wildlife observation. Monkeys, sloth's, deer, and magnificent frigate birds are common sightings; on a lucky day you may see agoutis and ocelots, but these felines tend to be quite elusive.

Santa Teresa - Malpaís is one of the most consistent and less crowded beach breaks in the country all year round. It keeps drawing intermediate surfers from all over the world who keep coming back for bright blue skies, beautiful clear water and glassy waves in the summer!
